Yarn Along

Socks

This week's Yarn Along features two socks! Different one's! The one's on the left are my "no need to pay attention" socks. I can do these no matter what's going on around me or whose talking to me. A lot of that got done last week at Ree's story time and during the Patriots game Sunday night.

The one's on the right I need to pay attention. Although not as much as in the beginning. But I still need to do these when there's not so many other things calling my attention. They both are almost ready to begin the heel. One of my favorite parts of sock knitting!

I need to take it easy knitting the next few days though. My thumb is sore & I think it's because of all the knitting that's been going on around here lately. With Ree not feeling that great most of the weekend & Monday I spent a lot of time on the couch with her while she watched (way too much) TV. I can't just sit there so I knit. A lot more then I usually would in a day.

I've also been reading a little more of Quiet. I'm getting into it now. I would have included it in the picture of the socks but it's upstairs. And I'm not!

  1. I hope Ree is feeling better today, it makes for a long day when our babies are ill.
You have really gotten a lot of sock knitting complete.
I love the heel part too, so exciting. It really doesn't take much to make me happy ;)

  2. Poor Ree. When I was pregnant I was so swollen that I got carpal tunnel. I wasn't a knitter back then, but it if I was I know I would have been in some pain. Take care of yourself mama!

  3. Your socks are lovely, and I understand the need for different projects. I had to cast on a "no need to pay attention" project so I can knit at a Temple Grandin talk tonight. I loved Quiet and wish that the extroverts in my life would also read and understand it.

  6. Lovely socks! Every year I plan to knit socks, but then I never do. Maybe 2014 will be my year for sock knitting!

  9. my favorite part of socks knitting is right after the heel is shaped, because it already looks like a sock and since I have really small feet, it doesn't take long to get to the toe and cast off :D ..I love the colors in the colorful yarn, really nice combination.

  11. I love the socks and am considering going back to sock knitting - for some reason I have just never been able to get into it but your socks are compelling! Beautiful! Sorry about your sick sweetie, I hate it when my girls are sick.

  12. Nice socks. Isn't it great to knit during football games. I got so much done during the Broncos game on SU. C was being entertained by the older girls and I got to watch football. Win-Win. (Especially since the Broncos kicked butt!).
