Lattice Socks

This was my view New Year's afternoon. After a migraine all day on New Year's Eve, New Year's Day was pretty low key. A cup of tea, a new book and my knitting!

I love Amanda Soule's blog, SouleMama & have gotten each of her books as they are published. I got Rhythm of Family a few months ago and scanned through it. But I took it out the other day to go through it month by month this year. I want to actually DO the things she suggests in it.

And here's the 1st sock off the needles last night! You can't really see the pattern in the photo & even in person it's a little hard. I wish I had used different patterned yarn but oh well. I really do like it! And to combat the second sock syndrome I immediately cast on for the 2nd sock last night even though it was 10!

I'm joining Ginny at Small Things today for her yarn along!

  1. Very nice! I have yet to knit socks because I can't get over spending so much time knitting something I walk on. But I want to. Love yours!

  2. The socks look really great! I have that book, too, and haven't done much in it yet. I should also give it a try month by month. Love your blog header!

  3. Pretty colors! I want to try that two at a time sock making that people talk about.

  5. I'm still a beginning knitter, so I've never done a pair of socks yet, but I've often suspected that it must be really hard to do that second sock!

  6. We've made the bird food/suet from Rhythm of the Home twice now, and the birds love it! Like your idea of working your way through the book month by month.

  7. I'm jealous of your socks-they're adorable! I'm going to attempt making my first (very plain jane) socks this week. At least get them started, anyway;)
Off to check out that book, it's caught my eye a few times now, I think I need to read it:)
