Weekly Yarn Along

Linking up with Ginny from Small Things for her yarn along

I finished my lattice socks this week. I like them. I like the yarn I just wish I had knit them in a different yarn to show the pattern off better. Even though I liked the pattern I don't think I liked it enough to make ANOTHER pair using it. But I'm happy they're done and I'm very happy they're for me!

I started this awhile ago as some mindless knitting to do while watching one of the Harry Potter movies. It's the Harry Potter 4 chapter hat.

After that is finished I'm going to knit the Boneyard shawl, again for me. My husband told me to pick out a "nice" skein of yarn (meaning one that costs more then 8 dollars) for  part of my birthday present. I'm thinking I might use Madelinetosh Pashmina but am not sure yet. We were thinking of taking a day trip to visit WEBS on Friday but with Ree not feeling well I'm not sure if we'll do that.

I forgot to take a picture of the book I'm reading but it's Inheritance, the 4th book in the Eragon series. I'm really enjoying the books and will be sad when this one is finished.

  1. The socks look great, but I know what you mean about struggling to get the right pattern for colourful yarn! I think I need to get more semisolids for this very purpose ;)

Hope you choose something fabulous for yourself when yarn shopping!

  3. Very cute socks! Is it hard to follow the pattern after you get into the flow? I'm always hesitant to add a complicated pattern to socks because I don't want to get bogged down then have left-sock-syndrome. :)

  4. Very pretty socks! I love the colors.

Webs is awesome - I have to limit the trips there to once or twice a year.

  7. My oldest was gaga over the Eragon series, but he decided against buying the final one. Library visit may be in order. He really would rather read history books! Madeline Tosh yarn is gorgeous but expensive. Hope you can decide!

  10. It will be quite a while before I can knit socks like those. Very impressive! I love the color of the yarn you are using in the hat.
