After reading Karen's morning post about thrifting and being a morning person I walked around my house to take a few pictures of the morning light.
I've never been much of a morning person preferring to stay up late late at night. That always seemed to be when I did my best work. But I also need time in the morning by myself to wake up; have my cup of coffee; and mentally start my day with quiet. Thankfully Ree is very much NOT a morning person so as long as I'm up by 7:30 (I know, not THAT early really!) I am guaranteed at least an hour of Mommy wake up time.
But I do enjoy catching the early morning light as it shines through the house and across our yard and the cemetery next door. There's a peacefulness about the world as the day begins.
Oh, I enjoyed your morning light so very much! When the kids are home from 5:15 a.m. to until 8 a.m. it is MY time. No one is awake and I love every precious minute. It helps they are young adults and the nights are more exciting than the mornings :)
ReplyDeleteI was never a morning person either, but that all changed when I had kids. Now my internal clock goes off about 3 or 4 a.m. and I am up for the day!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, very pretty.
I wish I could stay up later at night, I feel like I would get so much more done! But, I am one who wakes with the sun and the birds. Pictures are lovely, light and shadows can be so beautiful. I have had two homes across from cemeteries. I always appreciated the quietness they provided..
