November 1st

The end of the day is turning out a lot better then the beginning.

Last week Amy posted on Twitter that she had signed up for the Art Every Day Month Challenge. I immediately signed up too and have been thinking about what to do every day for November.

I knit pretty much every day; Ree & I do a craft almost every day; I've been sewing a little bit every day. But I wanted to do something a little different.

I've always enjoyed the blog habit. It's actually what made me decide I wanted to start a blog. I like the format of posting a picture from the day with 30 words or less.

This morning when I logged on habit had put up a post inviting all their readers to participate for the month of November in their flikr group. Then & there I decided that this would be my Art Every Day Month Challenge.

The only time I may post more then 30 words (aside from today!) will be on Wednesday's when I put up my yarn along post. And probably Sunday's when I put up my Weekending post.

I'm hoping this challenge will help me slow down in my days as I get ready to start preparing for the holiday's and Ree's birthday. I want to remember the joy in the normal everyday moments especially this time of year!

  1. I have failed on Day One. Well, not exactly--I'm planning to sketch out ideas for tomorrow's bigger project, later on tonight. But I spent the morning running errands and the afternoon doing laundry (FIVE LOADS) and vacuuming, thanks to yesterday's diagnosis of the 8yo's dust mite allergy. I've now washed ALL his bedding (which has to be done once a week, comforter and everything), zipped up his mattress and brand-new pillow, spent an absurd amount of money at Target, washed curtains...yeesh, I'm ready to drop. I hope it helps.

Twice as much art tomorrow, I guess. :)

  2. Have fun! I look forward to your posts :)
