Woodland creatures

At the beginning of the month I joined the others at Squam in Double Dog Daring myself for March. As I wrote about here, I decided I wanted this to be the month that I learned how to embroider. And I did! Still about 10 days left in the month and I am almost done with my first little set of patterns that I wanted to accomplish. The patterns are from the Doodle Bug Stitch Along that took place about a year ago.

 My first little embroidered people

 My little mushroom house

 A little tree stump house

And I'm almost finished with my grandfather gnome.

It is so fun and portable! For these little patterns I think I'm going to make a mini quilt to hang on the wall. Although each one is different in size so I'm not sure how that'll turn out.

Next up I want to embroider a table runner for our dining room table. Something with bright, cheerful springy flowers. To put vases of fresh cut flowers on!

  1. oh, i LOVE these woodland themed projects! good luck with the quilt!

  2. adorable! I've always wanted to learn, and I've always wanted to attend Squam! Lucky lady, you. :)

  3. Wow, you've been so busy! It's addictive, isn't it? :)
