Yarn Along
There really hasn't been knitting going on here for the past few weeks. For one, because I found that I love embroidery and I have about 10 projects lined up for that that I want to do. (An undated embroidery post will be here tomorrow).
Another reason is that I started the baby t-shirt vest a few weeks ago but I'm not that into the pattern. Maybe because it's not for any intended baby. Or it could just be I don't like the pattern. I may end up frogging it and using the yarn for something else. It's Cascade 220 and I love it! Maybe a shawlette or cowl or something. I'm not sure but I do know that next week you may see the yarn as another project!
I haven't been reading anything very interesting since I finished The Violets of March last week. A WONDERFUL book recommended by my sister. I highly recommend it too. Yesterday my brother-in-law brought me the second book in The Hunger Game series so I was excited to start that last night (and stayed up way too late reading).
Jump on over to Ginny's to see what everyone is knitting and reading about!

Good idea to repurpose the yarn, no fun at all if you're not enjoying the pattern :)
ReplyDeleteI have that book on my to read list. I need to look for it next time I'm out. Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI just finished the Hunger Games trilogy. I put everything aside to read the books. I thought it a very good series. I can't wait for the movie! Although I do wonder if it will be as good as the book.
ReplyDeleteI just can't wait to read the Hunger games--maybe I will begin the hunt at my library for it. I have been waiting for the excitement to die down but I don't think I can wait much longer! The Violets of March sounds great(Thanks for the link) I have the embroidery bug too- leaves little time for much else, huh? You should share some pictures of what you have done-- I would love to see them!
ReplyDeleteHey, I stayed up late last night reading the Hunger Games too - a reread, but it sucked me in all the same!
ReplyDeleteWell hopefully you figure out what you are planning with the yarn :)
ReplyDeleteAnother reader of the Hunger Games:-D I am starting to wonder how many of us there are right now in the world reading this trilogy?

I finished Catching Fire last week and loved it. The Violets of March is on my reading list and I'm glad for your recommendation of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the World of Wiedz. Your sunshine looks wonderful! I also enjoy embroidery and can't seem to get myself to concentrate on both at the same time...I'm completely immersed in one or the other!
ReplyDeleteI think every other yarn alonger I visit is reading The Hunger Games. :) I only have read the first book and am looking forward to seeing the movie! And I just looked up The Violets of March and it sounds like something I would enjoy reading! Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteLoved that trilogy! So excited for the movies!! Enjoy the books :)

ReplyDeleteOh, I have just done the toddler version of that pattern and I loved it but I think it was quite different since it was knit in rounds from the neck down. And I knew who it was for, I do think that makes a difference. Like my mittens, I still have 1 1/2 since I found out that they will be too small for my own hands ;-(
ReplyDeleteI must be one of the few people that has not read the Hunger Games. I love embroidery too. There just are not enough hours in the day to fit everything in.
ReplyDeleteI love embroidery too, but haven't done any in SO long! I agree with Cheryl above--there are just not enough hours in the day :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are enjoying the embroidery. I would like to do more, but knitting keeps me really busy these days. I love your yarn... whatever you decide to do with it!
ReplyDeleteWhen you gotta frog.. you gotta frog. It'll let you know what it wants to be! :)
