Yarn Along

Socks!

Not much different here from last week.

I did finish the first sock of the My Cup of Tea pattern. And I am now on the foot of the stripy socks.

I did get some new yarn this past weekend as a late anniversary present:

New Yarn

Not exactly the colors I would choose for myself but....Ree was there & exclaimed how much she LOVED it and I NEEDED to get it because it will make some BEAUTIFUL socks. She sure does help get me out of my drab, darker colors!

On the reading front, I'm still enjoying Quiet. I need to hurry up & finish it since it's due at the library next week. I don't want to hurry though because it's chock full of good stuff! I've found myself taking notes as I read. It's that good!

What are you reading & knitting these days?

  1. I love Ree's sense of style :) My daughter always picks colors that I would never in a million years choose and sometimes they are beautiful (sometimes not!).

  3. Oh I love that bright yarn. Ree has good taste! They really will make some nice socks. Or even a small shawl. I have a feeling Ree is hoping whatever it becomes it ends up in her hands!

  5. I hear you on color choices... Me? I tend toward dark earthy colors and lots of green, but my girls go with bright colors! Sometimes I like them, and sometimes I don't. Happy knitting. :)

  6. All of your socks look so cozy, and I love your new yarn! My older son is the one who's getting me out of my plain color rut and I have to admit that just looking at those fun colors makes me happy!

  7. Fancy pants... knitting socks! Bravo! When I first taught myself to knit I asked my partner what he'd like me to make him... "socks" he replied. He'll be waiting a while yet - I just can't seem to get my head and hands to co-operate in order to knit in the round on dpns.

Loving that vibrant yarn. Always good to have someone in our lives that takes us out of our comfort zones.

  9. I recently completed an afghan in much brighter color combos than I would usually choose and I love it. We need to get out of our comfort zone sometimes. I love the bright yarn.
